Jiuzhaigou National Park

Jiuzhaigou National Park, established in 1982 and located in the north of Sichuan province in central China. To this day, Jiuzhaigou remains one of China's most popular national parks with almost four million annual visitors. Jiuzhaigou National Park stretches over 72,000 hectares, and extends into part of the Min Mountains on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau, knowing for its many multi-level waterfalls, colorful lakes, and snow-capped peaks. Its elevation ranges from 2,000 to 4,500 metres. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 and a World Biosphere Reserve in 1997. It belongs to the category V in the IUCN system of protected area categorization.
